Design recycling

In the course of making models and doing tests for our clients we regularly had to source or design and build tools, instruments, modules and parts that we think could have wider use. So engage in some intellectual recycling to save yourself some time and re-use our design work - but please take note of our terms of use!

You can also buy some parts and kits from us. At the moment this is very much a trial - if you're interested please get in touch...

AVRUSBKey base board

USBKey with base board

The AVRUSBKey (AT90USBKey) is a convenient demonstration/prototyping board based on the Atmel AT90USB1287 microcontroller. What's not so convenient is that the AVR's port pins are brought out on 0.05" pitch headers, and only has a single screw mounting hole. We've made a base board (at 90mm x 50mm only slightly larger then the USBKey itself at 90mm x 30mm) onto which you can plug or solder the USBKey, bringing out all pins on 0.1" pitch headers and offering 4 mounting holes for M3 screws.

MicroSD-card adapter

MicroSD adapter PCB

For one project we've used a 3.5" QVGA touch screen display module by Luminary Micro, the MDL-IDM-L35. It is based around an Arm Cortex M3 processor, and among other features has a microSD-card slot. However as we've integrated the unit in our own design we needed an adapter to connect the SD-card socket in our custom case to the IDM. This little PCB takes the place of a microSD card and brings out the 8 pins of the socket on a 1.27mm pitch - you can either solder flatcable directly to the pads or use this IDC connector. We can sell you the microSD-adapter PCB with or without connector.
